DIE ZEIT: Mr. Hoffman, you are one of the most prominent entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley and also one of the loudest voices against Donald Trump. Back in 2016, that seemed to put you in the majority. Since then, though, the mood has shifted. Why have people like Elon Musk, who once supported the Democrats, pivoted to Donald Trump?

Reid Hoffman: First off, I hope it won’t stay that way. But there are many reasons for it. For one, Democrats themselves contributed to people in Silicon Valley turning away from them and becoming politically radicalized.
